I don't think you will the price drop on BD standalones any time soon, the price are pretty much set where they are at for the moment what you might see is that a model might be discountinue when a new player comes out with more features but at the same price as now....

I think so. I think prices tend to drop when a new player is released. For example, samsung 1400 and sony 300 are now around $300 as panasonic 30 and samsung UP-5000 are available. That's maybe because new models are profile 1.1 players, next generation ones. This tendency will continue until a finalized version of a BD player comes out and mass adoption occurs. My $.02
