PS3 won't output 1080P to my Samsung LNT4661F - Blu-ray Forum

Hello!
I have a Samsung LNT4661F LCD TV, which supports 1080P, and a PS3 connected via HDMI.

The PS3 will ouput 1080i to my TV just fine, but when I try to configure it for 1080P I get a blank screen. I know my TV supports 1080P, any ideas?

If you have another HDMI cable, try that.

If the PS3 automatic setting for video doesn't check 1080p, try forcing it to accept it.

If it still won't work, call Samsung.

Are you gong direct from the PS3 to the display or through a switching mechanism like an A/V receiver or multi-input HDMI switch box?

I got that same TV and I'm getting 1080p.

i just had this problem, but i didnt relize that i had to change the display settings on the ps3.... go to display and the ps3 will detect the 1080p capabilities and ask you if you want these settings hit yes and you should be ok

Did you buy a cheap HDMI Cable? Be sure you have one that is CAT 1.3 Certified or whatever to do full 1080p. Some cheap cables cannot output in 1080p, I even bought one at Big Lots that did not work with the PS3 at all.
