Sony Should Make 2 Consoles Next Gen

Phil Harrison is completely right. The thought of the PS3 or Xbox 360 is very intimidating to non-gamers. My girlfriend just started playing games with me and I had a flashback. I watched her as she struggled to grasp the concept of the R1, R2, R3, L1, L2, L3, Start, Select, Right, Left, Up, Down, Right Analong Stick, Left Analog Stick, Triangle, Circle, Rectangle, X, Sixaxis Motion Control and PS button. Thats A LOT of buttons and controls! I remembered when I was in grade school and got my first PS. Oh man, it took me a solid few months of hardcore gaming before my instincts were quick enough to press the right button instantly. Its tough and a lot of people want to game, but a lot don't want to put that kind of time into it. So what I'm proposing is this.

1 Hardcore Console, 1 Casual Console

Think if Sony had come out with a Wii type device along side the PS3, they would be making bank.

The casual console would be a cheap, easy way to get into gaming and when you get good enough, you can upgrade to the bigger, better console. Sony would probably sell a lot of bundles and people would be happier.

Thoughts?

BTW: Good Luck Phil wherever you are going, you did a great job with Sony.
