Im about to get my hd tv this weekend -woohoo, and
does the ps3 take the normal hdmi cable is there any form of oddball converters that are needed. I would assume not, but rather be safer then sorry. I found a nice gold plated hdmi cable for $5.77 at my local Frys store advertisement which is very close to where I plan on getting my tv. Last edited by dk3dknight; 02-29-2008 at 02:46 PM. Don't buy expensive HDMI cables (over US$15) unless it is braided and VERY LONG. Go to Monoprice.com and check out their prices.
You can use the US$15 to buy a BD movie. fuad |

Its $5.77 not $15.77 , typing a little fast there aye?
![]() It was also on the way, and on the way for other things I planned on buying like a blu-ray movie. I understood when I used the word HDMI cable that many would jump up and down to save me from going to a local store, and I thank you for your concern but do not fray I had a plan, after seeing my frys ad. $5.77 for a gold platted hdmi cable 6 foot and I could pick it up on the way to pick up my tv from sears. BTW its a Sony Bravio 26 inch S series and it sits proudly in my room. Last edited by dk3dknight; 03-03-2008 at 02:00 PM. Reason: :D |

Well it's been a few days since you post up your Q.
![]() But regardless, what I say about Monoprice is still valid. Cheap cables. Reliable cables. Gold plated cables (I bought 2 HDMIs, 1 HDMI-DVI and one PS2/3 Component cable). And it's not just me that can vouch for them. Lots of other people would. And what I said about the length is also valid. For short runs you don't need expensive HDMI cables - like the ones with optical strand terminated by HDMI-converter plug - to do the job. Save those for long cable runs. fuad |

But you cant beat whats on the way to get the tv, across the street vs waiting weeks with a hd tv and being forced to use Red,Yellow, White cables.
They were 17.99 cables on a sale for 5.77 and of course picking up a blu-ray and a boxset at the same time at the same store it was of course a planned event. |
