3300ES, stereo only - Blu-ray Forum

Hey, one of my mates just got a sony 3300es and after setting it up with his PS3 and KDL40X3100 we discovered that it will only play his mp3's in stereo. Does anyone know how to force the amp to 2.1???????????

Are you talking about applying the soundfields built-in to the 3300?

yeah, so when music is playing its not just stereo, i want the sub active as well.

How is the audio sent to the 3300?

I run hdmi from the PS3 to my 3300. I have to go into the PS3's audio settings and turn off all the 5.1 & 7.1 settings to be able to use the receiver's soundfileds.

Its connected using HDMI, that is a pain. so there is no other way of doing this??? so each time you have to turn the 5.1 & 7.1 off. Does anyone know if this is the same for the 5300ES
