if your receiver can handle pcm then it will handle the decoded tru hd from the ps3 thats converted to pcm. no dts ma yet

You need a 1.3 compliant AVR when the player will bitstream only. Since the PS3 decodes TrueHD and sends it as MPCM (i.e. not bitstream), any HDMI AVR will do.

Which is great news if you're hunting for a Denon and are on a budget. I think you have to jump up to the 988/2808, with MSRP of $1,199, to get one that does the decoding themselves of True HD & DTS-MA. I wonder if they'll ever join the party, i.e. offr advanced audio decoding on their lower priced units.
