Just curious what others thought of the movie Home of the Brave? I went by a wall mart employee's sugestion and being that it had Jessica Biel and Samuel L. Jackson, how could it be bad. I found my self laughing halfway into the movie, not just at the bad acting but at the fact i shelled out $29.99 for it. Am i the only one that felt this way, im curious what others think of it.

No, you're definitely not the only one!
Tried watching this with my wife about 2 months ago, after laughing for some time, we got kinda mad at it and she left about half way through. I finished watching it, hoping there would be some point to it all! What a load of crap... I am glad this was only a rental. If you still have the receipt try take it back and get a refund or at least store credit etc... that is if no one else on this forum might be interested. |

PQ was average, IMO (i.e. looked good in some scenes and so-so in others). As for the movie itself, it wasn't quite what I expected. I thought it was going to be along the lines of another Black Hawk Down type movie and it wasn't. It did show a little of the fighting but mostly dealt with the soldiers after they came back home. It could just be the way I took it but what I didn't like was that it seemed to imply that *every* (or a lot of them anyway) soldier that comes back will be majorly screwed up psychologically. I think it would have been better if it was more balanced, maybe having at least one character that was somewhat normal after returning.
Edit: Actually, just re-read your post and noticed that you saw it already. Sorry about that. I was answering as if you hadn't seen it yet and wanted to know if it was worth it or not. Last edited by owa; 03-24-2008 at 01:08 AM. |
