Opinions on Buying BD Secondhand f/ Original Owners? - Blu-ray Forum

I have just begun my journey into Blu-Ray (and loving it), but the prices on some discs are a little pricey for my taste. I ventured onto craigslist and have come across a smattering of posters selling BDs from $5-$17.

My questions is: What kind of experience do you all have with buying used discs person-to-person from original owners? Positve? Negative?

I know BDs are supposedly more scratch resitant than SD DVDs so that would be an argument for... but I just to poll popular opinion here. Thanks

Try a pawn shop, Ive bought about 8-10 from one of my local ones.

All of them have been completely scratch free, thanks to the wonderful Hardcoat.

I have a Great experience from Amazon only one cracked case in 27 purchases. The system works, i have some new purchases. But most of my purchases from Amazon are "Used like New".

Early adopters normally take care of their stuff. This early in the game, you probably shouldn't worry.

I have bought few of my 100+ blu rays brand new. I never cared about helping the sales numbers because I never thought HD-DVD had a chance of winning any week.. I have had "Great Success"

Amazon is great cheap way of buying used blu ray discs
