Default ps3 audio problems using optical cable
This is all new to me but the following is a history of what I have done to date.

I have a PS3, Panasonic Elite VSX-36TX Audio/Video Multi Channel Receiver, and a Sony Bravia 46" TV. I have run HDMI cable from the PS3 to the TV, Optical from the PS3 to the receiver. I have a 5.1 speaker set up. I have changed all the PS3 settings to bitstream per some of the threads that I have read but I'm still not getting any 5.1dd or dts.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thx
