Default Pioneer vs. Panny. Help!

Ok, I'm ready to pull the trigger in about 2 weeks and made my choice with the Pioneer PDP6010 60 inch. Now i've been reading about the Panasonic TH-58PZ700U 58 inch. Cnet gave the Panny 8 out of 10 and most reviews say its a great set. I havent seen it in person so I am just going by reviews. The Pioneer I have seen and well, it was smokin' . Now, there is also a price difference of about $1500 between the two. My concern is if that price difference is justified or not. I dont think the $$ difference between the standard Pioneer and the Elite is justified, but thats just me {ymmv,etc..}. I'm not really concerned with the overall cost as much as I am concerned about spending my money wisely Anyone own the Panny that could chime in? Any Kuro owners make the decision? Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

My friend Jeff will probably kill me for saying this, but if it was my oney I was spending, it'd be the 6010. Easy decision! (His Panny 50Z750 is a great TV, but I'd rather have the Kuro...)

Either Kuro is going to be superior to the Panny. The Elite does have better picture processing than the regular Pio, and it also comes with a two year warranty vs. a one year for the non-Elite.

The Pioneer not only has deep blacks but it also displays 1080P/24 correctly on the screen making BLU-RAY discs look closer to film. The Panasonic model you mentioned uses a 3:2 pulldown method when 1080P/24 is inputted. There is no benefit to having a 1080P/24 input if a 3:2 pulldown process is used.

Look I own the panasonic 750u. The only tv better than it is the Kuro or elite. Pioneer is better than panasonic barely. I think if price was a concern you'd be considerably satisfied with the panasonic. I am. I couldn't justify $1500 more that small of a difference. If it isn't a big deal, then by all means go with the Pioneer. Either tv will impress. Good luck

Both the non elite and Elite versions are excellent displays. The Elite versions have a little deeper blacks compared to the non Elite's.

Here are some reviews to look at

My friend has that Panasonic, it is very good for the price. But IMO it doesn't come close to the Kuro. If you are okay with the price difference then go for the Kuro.

I just bought (yesterday) the Panasonic TH-50PZ85U plasma model. Man, what an awesome tv. Beautiful PQ ...

The Pioneer is a nice set as well ... just a bit too expensive.
