EA abosrbing T2 would be negative to the marketplace in terms of competition, but T2 stockholders have to be nuts if they don't think their stock is already valued and adjusted in regards to how successful everyone thinks GTA4 will be.

The major stockholders probably do not want to lose the company, they might actually like being in control of a major gaming company, if they sell there stock they no longer have control, and there income from take 2 would be cut off.
Not everyone has a wish to jump ship and exit, im assuming the major stockholders are rich, and getting nice dividends and do not plan on moving on just quite yet. Never know humans are not creatures that can be easily identified with, controlled, or at times logical so nobody knows what to expect. |

It's set to take over Halo sales for day 1 or first week from what I read. Of course, you've been able to preorder it for a good 8 months I'm sure, so that probably helps.
I'm sure EA will end up taking them over though - they will simply have to pay more than they originally wanted. |

I know they were in talks with some Asian company... perhaps there is a deal being negotiated there instead?
At this point, I don't see EA offering more for T2, especially considering they've lessened the offer since the $26/share offer was refused. Or perhaps T2 is bold enough to think, in the wake of GTA4's eminent success, that they could perhaps grow to be a direct competitor with the likes of EA and Activision? Rather than being a small fish swallowed up by a big fish, maybe they aspire to become a big fish themselves? |

If not put them in the black, at least put them on the path toward sustained profitability again. What they don't need is another hot coffee incident. You know hackers will be dying to see if anything hidden can be unearthed in GTA IV. I really hope Rocks Star learned from their mistakes with San Andreas and scrubbed the code good.
We as gamers need Take Two to be successful. The gaming industry won't do as well as it could if it's dominated by just EA and Activision. |

Hot Coffee was bull****. You needed a ******* mod just to get to it. I can't believe they were sued over it.
America is really afraid of sex and politicians are scumbags. That's all Hot Coffee proved. Last edited by Shin-Ra; 04-18-2008 at 05:57 PM. |
