US, April 25, 2008 - It's been long rumored that Bioshock would eventually make the leap from the Xbox 360 to the PS3. After all, 2K Boston's critically acclaimed title moved from the console to the PC, and a code snippet found in configuration files for that port last year listed PS3 settings. Now, according to the upcoming issue of EGM, the move to Sony's system could be coming this fall. Supposedly in the rumor section of the magazine, Bioshock will be coming to PS3s this September, around the same time that details for Bioshock 2 will be released to the public. Bioshock 2, it should be pointed out, is expected to be released across the PC, PS3 and 360 instead of being exclusive to one platform.

The port will supposedly feature the previously released downloadable content and will have improved visuals over the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game. We contacted 2K Games for a statement on this new rumor and were told, "No comment."

but they wont give out a comment about it so its still iffy but it would definitely be nice if it did happen

if i got a nickle everytime i heard this rumor, well, there wouldn't be too many nickles left in the world.

I doubt the graphics will be better looking at the history of Unreal Engine 3 ports to out favorite console.

Having played Bioshock, I hope it does pass over to PS3. I won't be getting it, but its definetely a big plus for all PS3 gamers out there. The game is awesome.

UTIII PS3 + 9 months.

Unless Epic are keeping their PS3 optimisations to themselves, which makes very little sense.

From what I've heard of, 2K are hiring anyone with PS3 experience for development. I think it's true, I'm not 100% sure.

They want to license Unreal Engine 3 to as many PS3/multi developers as possible. Making life difficult for them isn't exactly going to help with that and encourage those developers that are already using it to move onto UE4.

i notice you use 'are' instead of 'is' any time you're talking about a company. maybe i've been out school for awhile, but shouldn't it be 'is'?

Microsoft will certainly do everything in their power to keep the sequel exclusive. The value of a port a year+ down the line is negligable, so they'll probably go for a year lockdown on it

ahhh, if this is true then thats great!

i bought it for the PC and loved it. this summer i plan on playing through it a 2nd time and harvesting all those little sisters! a must buy for anyone who doesn't have it yet. probably the best FPS campaign i've ever played. wish it was about 10 hrs longer though...

Well Bioshock is dead. Its would be like making Halo 3 on the PS3 a 3 years later after the 360 had it. Which mean BIOSHOCK will have garbage sales. Anyone who needed/wanted it has or got a 360. Sorry that made no sense.
