Default Denon DVD-3800BDCI OSD HDMI Audio Bug

Here is the condition:

When connected directly to an HDMI 2 channel source like your TV and bypassing any HDMI processing equipment and with the HDMI Audio out set to Audio Mute there is a problem with the machine.

The OSD HDMI audio display should be changed to reflect what audio is actually being played and outputted to your speakers.

The OSD should be changed to reflect what is being displayed from the machine audio display front panel for the format being decoded.

With this condition (HDMI connected directly to TV, Audio Mute) the HDMI OSD audio display incorrectly display the audio information because with this condition your audio HD is processed from your 7.1 outputs and your audio SD from your digital output not your HDMI.

For this condition it incorrectly and always shows:

Audio Info: PCM
Max Channel: 2

The OSD should be changed to show something like this:

HDMI Audio: (Muted or, 2CH, or Multi channel or, PCM)
Source: (HDMI) or if HDMI is Muted (Digital, or 7.1)
Audio Program: (From the Display Front Panel)
Max Channels: (From the Display Front Panel)

In my opinion they should issue a firmware patch to fix this.

The current Denon firmware patch does not fix this problem.
