Default Cloverfield Blu-ray Menu problem?

I cannot get the pop up menu to appear during playback of Cloverfield. Every single one of my other Blu-rays I do not have a problem, but this movie will not access the pop up menu. Very inconvenient since I sometimes want to access the chapter menu and such. I have to eject the movie and reload it in order to get the main startup menu. Anyone encounter this problem? (Btw I am using the standalone BDP-S300 from Sony. Not a PS3. But I do have all the upgrades available from their website.)

thats weird, check if you have the latest update for the BD player. that could be the issue. or did you try exchanging the disc from where you bought it, it could be the other problem.

I didn't think all BDs have pop-up menus, I have had some that say Operation Unavailable when I try...maybe I'm wrong.

You might have a defective disc take it back.

Well everything else works fine. Even the PiP tracking feature. I guess I'll exchange it, but I highly doubt thats the problem?

Haha, nope no offense taken, I didn't ever get a HD DVD player, but I'm guessing all those had pop-up menus. But seriously, do ALL BDs have a pop-up menu? I'm certain that on some of them, when I press "POP UP MENU" on the PS3 remote, nothing happens? No?

Confused.

Yeah but the top menu button will not access the menu of the movie either. This is the 1st time I have ever had a problem with a Blu-ray disc. The only way to get back to the menu is to fast forward all the way to the end and have the disc access the menu itself. Once the feature is started, you have no control at all.

Doesn't really help you but it works on the PS3 so there is a pop-up a menu. Just wanted to note that since, like the other post mentioned, I don't always think there is a pop-up menu.

Maybe the FW need to be updated.

My guess is go to a Store, ask if you can try it in another player in store. If it's working, then it's the S300 that need an update..

Well yeah that does help. Because now at least I know that there is a pop up menu. Hmm. Maybe with the next firmware update from Sony it'll be accessible.

I have the same problem with my bdp-s1. Does anyone know if the other players have this problem or is it just the sony players?

I have a Panny BD30 and the pop-up menu works fine. No issues at all. So I think either the Sony players are having issues with this disc, or you may have a defective disc.

It's not a defective disc. I exchanged it. It must just be the Sony players. They better get cracking on their firmware updates. As it is, I want the firmware update for the BDP-S300 so it can decode True HD
