Default Lionsgate Press Release

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures' SAW III 'Three-Peats' at Number One on DVD Charts While Also Claiming Most Successful Week One Blu-Ray Debut to Date

Quote:
Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), the
premier independent filmed entertainment studio, and Twisted Pictures sold
1.6 million units its first day and finished the week in the top spot with
2.5 million units sold. Also, according to Rentrak Home Essentials, SAW III
Blu-Ray disc is the largest and most successful Blu-Ray debut to date.
Quote:
That same
strategy carries over into our Blu-ray campaigns, with SAW III being our
third number one title this month. We are seeing huge growth within the
category as consumers are able to experience what Blu-ray has to offer with
titles that enhance and display the format's capabilities."
All smiles at Lionsgate nowdays.

I hope that they do well with their back catalogue coming out like Young Guns, First Blood, American Psycho and Reservior Dogs also.

I am sure I will be delving into a number of those eventually...

I wish Disney would get to their Tarantino titles!

Based off of deci's list, I in fact have all of the Lionsgate titles released to date. I have watched all of them except The Decent, Saw III, and Total Recall. However, starting this coming week, I don't think my Lionsgate binge will continue, as I only plan on picking up Reservoir Dogs and American Psycho. I'll probably hold off on First Blood for a little bit.

The success of Saw III means that the PS3 Effect (PS3E) is firing full throttle. The amount of business it will generate once the worldwide launch gets underway is rather scary-exciting.

Yep. The PS3 means an installed base of 70,000,000 blu-ray units in the relatively near future. Reservoir Dogs is the only Lions Gate title that I would watch repeatedly...but keep 'em coming please!

I'd rather clip my fingernails with wire strippers than watch half of the movies Lionsgate puts out, just to be straight-forward.
