Default Spiderman 4?!

Get this:

David Koepp in Talks for Spider-Man 4!

Quote:
Our source tells us that the studio is really excited about Spider-Man 3 after having seen a first cut of the movie. Add to that the phenomenal reaction to the screenings of footage at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago and the momentum leading up to this point from last summer's Comic-Con, which have sparked the studio to approach Koepp about penning the fourth film's screenplay.

There has to be a Spider-Man 4. He only gets the alien costume in part 3.

Part 4 = Venom duh!

Isn't Topher Grace Venom in this one? There was one teaser where PP tears off the black suit and drops it from a roof and it hits Grace and he starts changing.

But I can't see any way there isn't a 4 (and 5,6,etc) as long as they keep making $500 million+ each.

There is no reason why the movies cant go on for a while, theres still tons of villains, and the actors are playing their rolls well, along with some amazing scripts and action. The only problem i could think of, is if one of the main actors decides they don't want to be type cast, and not want to do another movie.

The only one that would have a true effect, at least in my opinion, is if Tobey Maguire decides enough is enough. Everyone else can just be left out of a particular storyline. I'd love to see Mary Jane get discarded for at least one film and bring in the Black Cat.

They could get rid of her all together because there are a couple of story lines where she dies or goes to another demension so anything is possible

They should definitely bring in Felicia Hardy. She is the only person that understands Spiderman rather than PP.

Venom would be the most obvious story, everything else is a bit too complicated, i.e. the Spider Wars saga.

Well, they introduce Gwen Stacy in Spidey 3, so I think that would be a nice way to get rid of Mary Jane. Either kill her or send her off to Hollywood to be an actress, and let Gwen have the spotlight for a few movies.

There's how many thousands of Spidey comics out there?

As long as the stories are good, you could have 100 Spiderman films end up happening and that's all good.

As for venom in the third movie I think it is a strong possibility you will see him some time at the end. I remember seeing toy statues put out for the movie and venom was one of the statues, so it would make sense that they will leave this one open ended for the next movie. Only time can tell.

Yeah, I remember and old interview before 2 came out in which Avi Arad said he would make at LEAST 9 movies if he could. As long as the studio kept approving them, and audiences still wanted to see them, he would do it.

I think eventually whatshisface wont want to play Peter anymore. I think there is a tiny TINY chance we'll get a fourth movie out of him. I'm 'expecting' 3 to be his last. I'm hopeful he'll change his mind though.

And I dont mind them changing him. As long as they get an actor with a similar build.

It is very unlikely that Gwen Stacy survives this film, anyone who has read the comics knows why. If they let her live I will not be impressed.

A quick recap for those who don't remember.

If they pull an Xmen III on us and suddenly major, canonical characters are dropping dead in uber quick and meaningless deaths all over the place? All bets are off.

I think they'll do better here. I'm not worried about Spiderman 3 at all.

Don't even get me started on the whole Xmen movies, Fox butchered the series, and didn't put Gambit (the most popular Xman of all time) in any of the films, stupid decision IMO.

It looks awesome from what I've seen of it. Very rich charcater-wise and action-packed.

If they can go on making great movies, why not do so?

I was a bit shocked at that in X-men 3 as well but I dont think you will see that here because you got the same director on all 3 movies

They'll have to have someone come in and make an amazing part 4 to get the series back on track. It can be done, but it'll take some real effort and grade A talent up and down behind the camera.

They need a bunch of new screenwriters, a new director, and a new producer. Get Sam Raimi (Spiderman director) in to direct it, but he is tied in to Colombia for a while yet, the problem with X3 was that the story was so, so bad, they tackled the wrong story arc. The Phoenix saga was always going to be too complicated for one film's worth, they could easily have spread the whole story over two films. They also got basic character abilities wrong, Rogue was a good example, she absorbed superstrength and flight from Ms Marvell, but that was never shown, Jean Gray has proper control over her telekinesis, but only for short periods of time, rather than poor control for very little to no time at all. They need to sort a lot of stuff out, bring Scott (Cyclops) back somehow, he doesn't die, he is the field commander for the X-Men, they already brought Prof X back, even though the method was stupid as Charles has a brother, but it is not his twin, it is the Juggernaught. Rogue does NOT take the 'Cure'!!!!!!!!!!!

Lastly, put Gambit it!

So atm I don't hold out much hope for the X-Men franchise, Spiderman has served me and many comic fans well, and I hope that it continues to do so in any possible fourth film.
