Home Theater Setup For A Bedroom? (Sub $300) - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting surround sound for use with 2 things.

My Xbox 360 (Gaming + Movies)
My iPod (will be using the system like a stereo)

My room is fairly small - but not too small.
I have a Samsung LNT-3253H LCD

Looking for something under $300 and no HUGE speakers.

Any suggestions

HTIB my only suggestion on $300 budget and wanting speakers as well.

Leave that up to another Home theater expert to suggest as im not really sure on HTIB.

I'd look into the three small satellite speakers from Polk, Klipsch, etc... and just get an older, even used, AVR, and just run the front three channels.... it's hard to set-up a bedroom for surround sound when you do most of the watching while lying in bed (it's not ideal usually) and you really don't want an over-powering sub etc... and the L/R/C will give you clearer sound, better dialog, more detail etc....

that can all be had for $200 or so if you get an older AVR....

Save your money and make a bigger budget. Ideally $500. You will NOT regret it. Spending $300ish on something mediocre you may.

Don't go the HTIB way. You can get three sets of these, this, and cables at Monoprice. Just don't go down the HTIB route.

That leaves you with about $50 for cables and shipping.

The receiver even has a 5.1 input so you can get a Blu-ray player with multichannel 5.1 outputs for HD Audio!
