Default Rearranging Bedroom Home Theater....thoughts?

Alright folks, here is my plan..I am painting my walls in the next couple weeks whenever my tax return comes back and the thought crossed my mind to rearrange my space for a change. My current setup is in my gallery, and here are my current measurements.

Room width is 153" (12 3/4 feet wide)...this is the distance across my back soundstage right now
Depth is 117" (9 3/4 feet deep) this is the distance that my tv is from my bed/chair.

now my plan is to place the tv on the wall that runs the depth of my room (117") and use the back wall/alcove to place my speakers and my chair. I am also going to go under my floor to hide my speaker wire for the back 4 channels. Also taking JJ's advice and grabbing some led lights and using the wireless module that he recommended that I grab to ad some flavor to my room. Any other advice from the community? suggestions will definately be taken into consideration.

thought about that also. Thank god I won't need all that many since I'm going under the floor for 80% of the total wire distance to the back speakers. Speakers will only be about 7 1/2 feet or so off the ground so I shouldn't need to much in terms of cable raceways. I'm excited as hell to do this though, thats for sure.

Just to update everyone on the redo of the bedroom theater, today I took down everything and patched the holes in the wall, sanded, and put a base coat of paint down. Letting it dry overnight, then tomorrow after school I am gonna slap the 2nd coat of paint on and hopefully can get the plasma up on the wall. I just finished drilling the holes in the floor for the speaker wire in the rear soundstage and behind the tv stand itself. So far so good, and cant wait to finish this up. Will post pics once I get the 2nd coat of paint up and the tv hung.

From an acoustics stand point, you should always place your system on one of the narrow end of the rectangle. If you have some images I can offer some other advice, but hard to tell from descriptions alone.

That actually is what I have started to do. Before my stage was very wide, which sounded fine, but I felt I was missing something. I have started to upload pictures of the process, but unfortunately it isn't far enough along to get a good idea of it. 2nd coat of paint went on tonight, so I should be hooking things up tomorrow night after class.

Actually Justin, I am turning the bookcase into my memorabilia shelf, and getting rid of the other shelf that I had above my tv. That space will go for my plaques and movie posters that I am getting shortly. Speakers are going to be flush on the wall in the rear 4 channels and shooting straight out into the room as opposed to straight down at me like before. I think my sound will reverberate better that way.

I realize it's a little late, but the wholes in your floor make me cringe. You mentioned a basement, I'm guessing it's unfinished, at least the part under this room? Are the walls where the rear speakers will go out-side walls? I'd love to know so we can offer help in saving your hardwood floors!! Even if they're inside walls.

Just try to let us know before you start drilling again!!

completely unfinished basement. All walls are inside walls with the exception of the surround left in the 7.1 system. I would LOVE to put the wire in the wall, but the walls are old style plaster, so without essentially ripping the wall apart I wouldnt be able to run my wires in the wall. I won't be there long enough to even try. My mother has already said when I move out she is going to put carpet down in that room, so I figured this was a good option. Side note, I wouldn't really call them "hardwood floors". It was just the basic planks that were put in when the house was built and had carpet put in after the build. Never were meant to be a showpiece type floor. If they were good hardwood floors, I would NEVER put holes in them. lol

I cringe at the holes in the floor myself....

I was looking at your surrounds and they are out of place, but that pic was taken last year so my advice is really late.

I am buying a house and the way my bedroom is laid out I knew I was going to place my surrounds near the ceiling. I havn't checked the walls yet and I don't know if I can run wires behind the walls or not, but If I can't I have decided to put some crown molding around the edge of the ceiling to hide my wires.

Default Finally!

Everything is for the most part done. Tv up, speakers on the walls, wires put in tubing to help with the clutter. It's not 100% done, as I don't yet have the wire covers for the tv/hdmi cable or my rear 4 speakers, but other than adding my plaques to the wall/posters/getting my Steelers collection arranged on the bookshelf behind my recliner and a few other random odds and ends I am done. Pictures are going up in the gallery as soon as i take my memory card out of my camera. Hope everyone enjoys

May i just add one thing and its only my opinion coming from a huge sports fan as well.
I find less is more. I notice you have a ton of sports stuff which is cool but it looks 1000x better now with out all the clutter. Just some constructive criticism. Looks great by the way.
