odd samsung ht av r710 and ps3 problem

Hello

got a stange problem.

Ive got a samsung plasma ps42a456 with the ps3 and the samsung HT receiver(ps3-r710-lcd), now ive previously run this set up with the samsung 1080i lcd, the ps3 set to 1080i and running through the receiver to the TV, this has all worked fine

ive since changed tv, the ps3 outputs at 1080p as the tv will accept the signal, the receiver is still connected the same way(ps3-r710-tv) but now i have the XMB on screen, i can do all the XMB stuff, but when i try and play a BD it wont work, the screen goes blank and thats it. The output on the ps3 is set to auto so should detect 1080i if thats what the receiver wants. Long story short, i have to plug ps3 directly to TV for it to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the receiver wont pass the movie through?
