Default Plasma Problems Help

I recently was watching tv on my plasma and i loct power to my house. The tv had lines on it when the power came back and was making a load high pitch noise and the only thing i could do was unplug it.It put everything back to default but no matter what i do the picture is messed up.It seems the black is screwed or something.dark pictures look terrible and i cant do anything in the setting to get it back to the way it was.Did the power outage do something to damage it?

my god man why is your Plasma not connected to a Line Conditioner/Surge protector??

...are you able to adjust the picture settings (brightness, contrast, color, tint etc)?

...color set to "warm"

etc

hopefully its just the settings out of whack and nothing serious to the TV. (have a warranty just in case?)

Ouch... That doesn't seem good.

Was the TV hooked up to a power conditioner (or at least a surge protector)?

I hope for you that your tv was not fryed when the current returned...

one of lifes lessons hard learned here....

if you drop a large amount of money on something, make sure you protect your investment. ie a surge protector or power conditioner for a nice tv.

i'm hoping you just need to re-calibrate the TV...unplugging a TV from its power source will usually reset the settings to factory default.

Just keep trying to adjust.

LOL! I love my Akai.

Anyways, sorry to hear that man. Definitely invest in a surge protector for the next one.
