Does anyone out there know exactly what BonusView is and if it is on the PS3 or will there be a firmware update for the PS3 the include BonusView?

PS3 has had BonusView for quite some time. See Batman Begins, for an example.

BonusView just happens to be the trademarked name for what most call BD Profile 1.1. The PS3 is actually a BD Profile 2 player (also known as BD-Live) which also happens to incorporate BD Profile 1.1 and supersedes it.

Bonus View allows you to view the special features simultaneously with the main feature via picture-in-picture. Bonus View is different from BD Live which allows you to download content not contained on the Blu-ray disc.
