Default Where are all the women at?

It seems that the vast majority of people who crave & obsess over AV gear are men. Certainly, there are many women who enjoy watching movies, but do they concern themselves with such matters as a display capable of 24FPS, lossless codecs, 1080P…etal.?

Not saying that a woman can’t appreciate the differences, but do they go to the lengths men do? Are there regular women posters here? Or, do the guys out there have a woman in there life that gets into it as much as they do? Just curious. My wife likes what we have assembled, but would be just as happy with a tube TV & standard DVD player.

(As I type this, I’m listening to a commercial play in the next room for Transformers coming out on BD )

Sure there are some that concern themselves with lossless audio, and 1080P signals.

I am a regular poster here as well have been since i joined. Some younger than others...I am 17. I assure you there are other women on the forum too, some with kick ass setups as well. =)

I suspect some stay away from identifying themselves as women and just discuss whats at hand, less embarassing things like this are bound to occur:

Just like some don't identify themselves on xbox live, and places like it...they end up like that thread, and sometimes way worse

At the end of the day and when all counts are done it is true that much less women tend to be attracted to high tech stuff and I don't know why. Maybe it's genetic or maybe it's a social issue I don't know

it's not strange, AV stuff is a guy thing much like knitting and sewing is a girl thing. I truly believe it is all genetics.

Well, my wife is kinda into hi def stuff. She loves blu ray and since we do not buy alot of movies, she will only buy blu for the most part. She also used to drive an EVO VIII, I drive it now

Now now, Julie is actually rather sweet - and is quickly becoming a Blu-ray addict. And she's very capable of handling herslef and can hang with the best of them.
