Default Chad Ocho Cinco: Dumbest Thing Ever?

Anybody who has followed the NFL for the past week, is surely aware that Chad Johnson no longer plays footbal, Chad Ocho Cinco does. Thats right, #85 legally changed his name to Chad Ocho Cinco.

This has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard anybody do. He didn't even change his name to the correct pronunciation of 85 in spanish. Thoughts on it.

This legally makes his initials COC now too.

PS. can a mod change my handle to stockstar uno uno tres ocho?

I'd laugh if he got traded at some point, and got stuck with a different number.

hes the type of guy though, that if he did get traded to a team with another 85, he would refuse to play until that player gave up his number.

I'm no football expert, but do they retire numbers like in the NHL?

Chad has gone from being eccentric to being an outright embarrasment to the team and the city. He's a baffoon!!

It's sad that one guy is so obssessed with promoting his own idea of fun, he fails to realize that football is a team sport.

He's worn my last nerves.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Sadly, there are far too many guys like this in today's NFL.

whats with football players all together. no sport has nearly the off-field issues that football has.

i really wish some class acts like jerry rice, brett favre, dan marino, marshall faulk would call a bunch of these players out and tell them to quit the crap.

If they weren't talking about him, they would be talking about how bad the Bengals are and if Marvin Lewis will make it to the middle of the season (I don't think he will).

there were no drugs, shootings, strip clubs, robberies, cheating scandals etc. with brett favre and the packers like there have been with many other NFL players. brett favre's only mistake was retiring and refusing to stay retired. he didn't do anything illegal or even immoral. he is still a true leader, perserverer and an all around good guy.

he is nothing like ocho cinco, pacman and to, so don't put him into that category.

wow, i sound like a brett favre fanboy there, i really could care less about him, the packers or the jets, but i guess i just hate the current smut of nfl players and wish a leader like favre would tell them to cut the crap. i think that would be a good thing for the nfl and few people in the league would carry the punch that favre could send.

He did change it legally for real, however the leauge will not let him put it on his jersey until all current 85 Johnson jerseys have been sold or pulled otherwise he screws the retailers. And Ocho Cinco is Eight Five, Eighty Five is different I think.
