Unfortunately quality HTiB is most often an oxymoron.
I can tell you that for under $400 the JBL 5.1 systems are pretty good. You're never going to get much depth out of an HTiB at that price, but at least you'll get decent 5.1 or 6.1 sound and be on the right path. The SCS145.5S was my first system and served me well while I had it. You can find it for $299 from Best Buy in the US. It is a JBL 5.1 system with a 100W 8" sub that does a pretty decent job. Only gets down to about 30Hz, but can deliver some half decent rumble. I don't think you would be displeased in a small to medium sized room Good luck, let us know if you have any more questions. |
