Default HDMI Cable Question

That depends on what you went to be see on the player and TV, If you have a 1080p TV and you went to see the movies in full 1080p format than you will need a 1080p capable hdmi cable that is for 1080p and it will say 1080p on the package. If you only went to watch movies and don't care about viewing movies in 1080p or don't have a tv that goes to 1080p than just go with a regular hdmi cable, just make sure that it is 1.3.

What? Someone has been drinking the monster kool-aid. Just go to monoprice and buy some of their hdmi cables. The links were given to you in the first reply to your question.

There is no such thing as HDMI 1.3 cable. There are only two types of HDMI cables: category 1 and category 2. All Monoprice HDMI cables are category 2. The following is from the FAQ of HDMI.org.

Q. What is the difference between a “Standard” HDMI cable and a “High-Speed” HDMI cable?
Recently, HDMI Licensing, LLC announced that cables would be tested as Standard or High-Speed cables.

Standard (or “category 1”) cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 75Mhz, which is the equivalent of a 1080i signal.

High Speed (or “category 2”) cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600).
