will this reciever give me HD sound?

just found what this guy has said on yahoo answers to the question can i get dts master audio if my reciever only does normal dts .

the PS3 does the decoding and does not output Dolby TrueHD or DTS-MA. Instead it outputs 5/6/7.1 PCM which the receiver can handle.

All you have to do is make sure the receiver actually supports audio off the HDMI connection. If it states that the connection is for passthrough only then you will likely not get this to work. Budget receivers often only have this passthrough options and therefore only act as an HDMI switcher.

think ive had it then im confused now how do you tell if a reciever supports audio off the hdmi, i always thought if a reciever had hdmi in and out you were ready for hd sound.
