The Extended Director's Cut contains three new documentaries: "Raising Hell: Filming The Exorcist", including new revealing set footage produced and photographed by cinematographer Owen Roizman, as well as camera and makeup tests, interviews with Friedkin, actress Linda Blair, author/screenwriter/producer William Peter Blatty and Roizman himself; "The Exorcist Locations: Georgetown Then and Now" — featuring a tour of the iconic locations where the film was shot, including a visit to the famous 'Exorcist steps'; and "Faces of Evil: The Different Versions of The Exorcist" — with Friedkin and Blatty discussing the different versions of the film and showing outtakes. The result is a new immersive viewing experience that takes you on the set of the film and offers a unique, up-close perspective of the filmmaking and special effects process that is rarely seen.

Probably so.. but we don't have placeholders to unannounced titles. So that's what gives me some light of hope.

At least this is a bit more confirmation that The Exorcist is actually in the works. I hope that it includes both cuts of the film. Preferably in a two disc set loaded with special features.

I think the days of needing a two-disc set are gone, aren't they? You can easily fit both cuts on a BD-50 with seamless branching, with all the existing extras, commentaries and multiple language/subtitle tracks.

I would like both cuts via seamless branching, with all the extras from both DVDs in a digibook with the original theatrical poster art. The power of Christ compels you, Warner!

Warner's decision making is predictable as clockwork on things like this. I wouldn't expect to see the Exorcist on Blu-ray until October of 2009. Honestly with their haphazard treatment of titles I am hoping it doesn't come out until they have gotten all their BD releases to maximum quality.
