Default In URGENT need of help concerning the psp3000 vs psp2000

I want to have a psp before the 15th of november because I am going away for a long time and I want it by then so that I can take it with me. But I don't know whether or not I should get the 3000 or 2000. I live in South Africa so the psp 3000 is not available here till next year but I can import it from Amazon. Only problem is I need to do that tomorrow then so that it will be here by the time I leave. The 2000 is available in SA so if I decide on that I can just go out now and buy it. But I need to know which is the better option. Is it worth it to import the psp3000 and risk not having it here in time? Is the screen really worth that risk? What should I do? IS the 3000 screen really better than the 2000? OR are the interlacing lines way too obvious?

PLEASE HELP! Anyone who has either the 2000 or 3000. What should I do?

Okay, so you guys suggest I should just go out and get the 2000. What if time wasn't a factor? Would you still suggest the 2000 over the 3000? I don't want to regret anything...

IMO get the 2000. You wont have worry about the screen issues and since it is your first PSP you really wont notice the difference. The PSP is great for travelling. I go to India and the Phillipines for 3-6 weeks at a time for work and would die without my PSP.

I'm also planning on getting a PSP too and I think I will get the 2000-slim model. Unless someone has heard if there will be some sort of fix for the interlace issues the 3000 has?

I don't think it's fixable since it's a hardware issue and not a software issue. At least, that's what I've been hearing. A real shame too because I was ready to give my launch PSP to my friend and buy the 3000

Hardware problem. Go with the 2000. I have it its awesome. The screen was the only thing the 3000 had going for it.

I'd find a store with the PSP-3000 viewable/playable so you can decide for yourself. I don't think the 1000/2000 ghosting is preferable for everybody, some dislike the motion inadequacies of the 2000/3000 equally but ultimately the 3000 has colour reproduction, the mic, button response etc in its favour.

Shin-ra what do you mean by button response? I have done my homework on this product (or so I thought), Enhanced color gamut, faster refresh rate, more anti glare, and a mic for skype, I haven't read anything about button response. I think Engadget or Gizmodo broke one open and said its pretty much the same except for the screen and mic.

The face buttons and dpad are apparently a little firmer and more responsive.

I did not know that. That cool not that I noticed any looseness with the PSP 2000.

You really need to compare for yourself because the issues with 2000 screen may bother you more than the 3000. Most of these people complaining about the 3000 have got used to the issues with their 1000 or 2000 screen so despite sorting those problems, the 3000's new issue is more of a shock to the system. If you're new to using the PSP the 3000 probably won't bother you more.

So yah I got the 3000 shin ... I dont see any ghosting ... although Ive only played the R&C it came with and the NT movie ... but reading reviews and stuff people complained about the movie really ghosting (well, 2 people) ... so yah, either BS ... or because I never put any significant time in on the 2000 Im not noticing...

Thanks for the advice cause I was in limbo and thinkin 2000 till reading ur last post I was like ahhhhh what the hell ... I could always return if necessary ...

I'll play some more games in the next week or so and make my final decision but so far so good!
