Check out ATS Acoustics. www.atsacoustics.com

I just put tile flooring in and I believe it has helped out a ton. They also have a free shipping deal going on. Good product and fairly reasonable.

Here are a few pics....

Let me know if you have any questions or need more pics!

Yes, they do help. However, don't expect miracles. If money is an issue, Part Express sells bargain panels.

2" & 3" (24" x 24") Panels:

Bulk (22.5"x22.5") & (22.5" x 45") Panels:

I made 4 using that same exact site. Final cost for 4 was about 90-100 for me. I'm in the process of making 4 more smaller ones. I decided to make them after we put in wood flooring and it does seem to help.

My room is carpeted and I didn't need big heavy duty panels, so I made my own.

1 carton of 5/8 inch acoustical ceiling tile about $30 for 12 2' X 4' tiles.
a couple of bags of batting about $5
fabrics to match decor of room about $20-30

Just hot glue the the batting to the tiles and then hot glue the fabric over that. If you want to get even more decorative you can cut the tiles into various shapes and sizes.

I have a friend with one of those computerized sewing machines, so I've been thinking about having her sew some patterns in the material for me. I would just need to provide her with two pieces of fabric and batting to go between the two sheets of fabric. The THX logo on black fabric with metallic silver thread would probably look cool (not in my room, but maybe in some of you guys' rooms.)

Done properly - either purchased or DIY - acoustic treatment will have a profound effect upon sound quality - in general second only to speaker selection. See this thread for tons of good advice on types, placement, DIY instructions, etc. etc.

Post a picture of the room you're having issues with...... corner bass traps can be made yourself, but there are also other things that help that many people overlook.

1) Pillows

2) Throws (blankets/rugs)

3) plants

All seem like insignificant things, but they help prevent sound-waves from reaching points of reflection.

Tapestry Acoustic Panel
http://www.stargatecinema.com/Tapest...-pr-89006.html

They make custom sizes for you from 1ft H x 1ft W up to 5ft H x 8ft W. I don't have any experience with them. However, the panels look beautiful and their prices are really low.

made my own for less than 125.00 and the best part, as you will see in the photos, if you dont like the color or scheme you can change it with ease. i used micro fiber suede, carpet padding and batting over 1/4 in plywood. I chose a 3-d pattern style which consist of three sections. one mounted on top of the other.
