A lot of those shots look like exact panels from the comic. I can't wait. If you've never read the book go do yourself a favor and grab a copy.

They aren't giving anything away. I've read it, too. Several times.
I think you think they're giving things away, because you already recognized how true to the comic the movie was going to be from watching the first trailer . . . except the first trailer is confusing for people unfamiliar with the material. It doesn't tell the would be audience anything of what this movie they're supposed to see is about. The original trailer was just to wet the jowls of fanboys. The new trailer will be more effective at drawing audiences who haven't read the book into the theater.
The new trailer doesn't give away any plot points, really. It just gives away the general situation of the picture which . . . should be enticing, shouldn't it?

Saying that this trailer gives too much away is like saying that the trailer for the Dark Knight gave too much away because it let everybody know that the movie would be about Batman vs Joker.

The music was in an '80's suspense style. The book takes place in an alternate 1985 and they're retaining that for the movie.
I'd say '80's feeling music is more fitting than the Smashing Pumpkins

I've got to admit, I never read a single issue of Watchmen, and I wasn't aware of it or the massive fan base it has until the last year or so, but I am excited. I am in general not a graphic novel fan, but I have enjoyed many of the movies based on them. So as someone who has no knowledge of Watchmen, I will be seeing it right away.

If you're a big graphic novel fan, you should pick it up. It was the dawn of the paradigm shift that spawned a lot of what you probably already enjoy.

Secondly, if you're a fan, try just calling them comic books. That's what they are.
The term "graphic novel" is for people too uncomfortable with the term comic book to admit what they read isn't traditional literature. Who's to say that comic book fans have to answer to the literary crowd? And who is to say that a medium that has been successful for almost a hundred years - for as long as motion pictures - needs the validation of a grander title?
They're just comic books.

Some recognize the music in the first half of the trailer ("Koy-aa.....nis-qatsi...")
This is merely marketing, however, as Philip Glass will not be doing the final score--Dang, would've been perfect, though.

In the meantime, too bad iTunes isn't offering the "Watchmen Motion Comics" Ep. 1 free anymore (yes, with the guy doing Silk Spectre's voice, but hey, it's supposed to be a Warner Audiobook, just with pictures)--
But you can get all the way up to Issue 4 on PSNetwork Store as well as iTunes...If you don't feel like getting a print copy, though.

I'm down with minimalist composers? What are you trying to infer?
Steve Reich would do a better Watchmen score, anyway. So, there's a whole NEW thing to be disappointed about.

It looks wicked, I really disliked 300 but Watchmen is quickly becoming my most anticipated film of 2009.

Yesss!!! Thanks for posting this.

I cannot wait to go watch this. Been waiting like years already, at least that's what it feels like. One of the best graphics novels out there!

Watchmen is one of the few things that really blows your mind. My only nitpick is I didn't like the female character and I hope they made her more bearable.

Don't care for the new music.

Will people please get off of their Barnes and Noble horses and start calling "graphic novels" comic books again?
