do bad blu-ray transfer really exist?

if so, is there a list of the movies?
i forgot where but i read somewhere like
this blu-ray movie is a dvd quality
a bad tranfer, something like that

There was something about Gangs of New York having a bad transfer, quality was supposedly terrible...I wouldn't know because my copy is still factory sealed. lol. It happens though...

I haven't seen bad ones, but I know stuff like T2 and Total Recall aren't huge upgrades but it still looks slightly better than the DVD.

Well duh. Bad transfers exist on any movie format.

Here is an interesting thread on the PQ of Blu-rays. I've agreed with many of the choices.

However, you have to remember that the larger your TV the more likely you will see the issues. many of the reviewers are doing this on 100"+ screens. Chances are that anyone with a 50" or smaller screen will not see the issues and may feel that the PQ was better and should be ranked higher.
