Default My Sony KDL-40XBR2 just busted! Help anyone?

Ok, so a couple of days ago, I turned my tv on in the morning to watch the news. And my screen was just blank. I have a home theatre in a box reciever connected to it via HDMI. I wasnt getting a live feed from my satellite. So I turned off my tv, disconnected, reset it, everything. And nothing.

I also noticed that when I press DISPLAY or MENU on my TV controller, I cant see anything. The screen just stays blank. I press all the buttons to see if anything appears on the screen, and its just blank.

Has anyone ever had this, or know the reason why its blank? Im thinking about taking it to a certified sony repair shop, but all i keep thinking are the hundreds they're going to charge me.

This is a real bummer, as I literally cannot see TV, and I paid a good price for this set. Anyone can help me, would be much appreciated.

If it also helps, over the last couple of months, ive been getting little thin thin, barely noticable thin lines going across my screen. I had a total of 3. Very thin though.

Thanks to all.

Hope you have an extended warrenty. I have the same tv and never had that problem. I kind of wish I did because I have the extended warranty and would love to get a new tv. For what I paid for mine I could get a nice 50 inch plasma.

I was debating on the extended warranty, but I didnt pull the trigger.
It came with a 1 year warranty, but that was over a year ago, and is not valid anymore. Unless it was 2 years, but I doubt it

That sucks. I believe the warrenty is only one year, but it depends probably on what's wrong with it probably. I would call Sony, and see what they say.

if no warranty, the cost to have it checked out, plus parts/labor.. you are better off buying a new tv
