Red face Thats just my opinion (people sayin bad stuff about blu ray)

Forgive me anyone if i offend anyone, and please dont ban me.

Anyhow, i felt that i needed to express my opinion in a few words.

Some people, im not going to mention who, are saying whats so great about Blu-ray. And they say its nothing but a clearer picture, so what?!
I mean i love HD and blu ray. I dont know why but i love HD technology and Blu ray, and if some people dont understand it then, dont go on this forum, please! Becuase i have enough people around me saying, whats so great about HD? And after some time it gets annoying.

To summarize, If you dont understand HD or dont want it, dont say it! Some things were NEVER ment to be said. But for me, Im just going to buy myself a 1080p TV and sit down and watch an HD movie.

By the way anyone tried Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" 1080P LCD TV? I was thinking of getting that.

I thought the person saying we were wrong to have HD as a hobby because there were poor people in the world was both sad and funny. It brought back memories of my idealistic days in high school.

I recommend the person read "Small is Beautiful"by E. F. Schumacher. Are we really lucky in the industrial world because we have so little free time?

As for that set, sorry I have no clue. The set I bought went down in price by over 50 pecent in half a year...so choose wisely. I would look for one that was HDMI 1.3 compatible but it would probably be 50 percent less in less than a year too. So study long and hard before you plunk down the money.

I personally would stay away from Westinghouse...unless you like grey blacks

I agree with the rest of your post.

If you can afford it buy a Sony or Mistubishi.

The SXRD RPTVs from Sony are great if you are on a budget and have space for it in your room. The RPTVs from Mitsubishi are also nice if you are ok with single chip DLP.

If you are not on a budget get a 1080p projector.

I would NOT recommend a Westinghouse under any circumstances.

Here is a 50" Sony for $1600.00 it is true 1080p. You will get a much better picture than the Westinghouse.http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KDS-50A20...5914828&sr=8-1

You can get a 52" Mitsu for $1500.00. Also a great picture. http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-WD-...5914904&sr=1-1

If you really bargain hunt and check Ebay etc. you may be able to find them even cheaper.

If you gotta have LCD then go for a Sony or Sharp AQUOS.

Good luck

Default What's so great about Blu-ray?

I gave up drinking to support my Blu-ray addition. No Bombay, Grey Goose, or Johnnie Walker in three months!

Not to offend but saying the Westinghouse has a great picture is like saying Bose has great sound. Audio/videophiles know better.

Samsung, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sony. Those I'd recommend (in that order last to first).
