Default Samsung or Sony? Help me choose!

I currently own a 40" Samsung LCD, which was a starter HDTV, but i have really enjoyed it. I plan on moving it to the bedroom, and I am currently trying to figure out which HDTV I will buy for my living room/home theatre setup. So this will be my Go to TV. I know that I want 120Hz and 52". I don't want to spend over $2,000. I am really considering either a Samsung or Sony LCD. What is my best choice for a 52" for $2,000? I am open to anything, including a plasma.

With so many recent price drops and model clearances, you can get either for the price you're wanting to spend. I would go to stores and see both TVs hooked up and see what you think. Make sure that you are seeing each TV in the optimum setting to make a comparison. Then choose. It's all subjective. I have friends who love Sammy's and those who love Sony's. I'm a Sony guy myself, but I wouldn't let anyone else sway you as to which to choose.

How do you like your 750? I love the Samsung that I currently own, and my favorite HDTV for the price, that I have seen, was the 52" 750.

For me, if money were no object I would get a 52XBR6. I wish the Sony Z4100 series came in 52" - that would be nice.

Samsung 750 is a very nice tv. You can't go wrong on either pick, just go for the one you find the best deal on!

So if the Samsung 52" 750 is my number one choice right now, should I take a look at plasmas? Any suggestions? Ambient light is not an issue for me, so I could go either way. But again, I want to stay with the 52" and $2,000 price tag.

Well, yes everything has pros and cons to it, and I know that it is all preference, and every Television, be it plasma or LCD will look different depending on the conditions of the room your set is in. I am just looking for overall satisfaction with quality and performance, from people who already own the sets I am looking at. My main goals for this set are to lose motion blur and judder, and increase the size. I was surprised that once I read about judder, I actually began to notice it often.

A lot people talk about the Halo problem with the Samsung 750 series tv, but i have never had that issue. I don't have no blur in the movies because i have the 120hz. I am very satisfy with my Tv.

I read about the halo problem, but there are also many people who do not notice it, like you. Some people just look for problems with things. Trust me, I work for a manufacturer of goods. Also, I can't see buying the 650, because there is only a small price difference. And it's funny, but since yesterday, Amazon's price has gone up $100 on the 750.

Well my friend just go with what you like. Everyone has their own taste and if you had a sammy before and you love it then you should go with it again

I have the 52" 550 series @ 60 Htz. I never notice Blur. The only thing I want when I replace this set is a thinner set with less of a frame around the screen.

I have it wall mounted and it sets about 5" off of the wall. In 2-3 years when I replace it, I will probably be able to get a 1" thick set with little or no frame for the same price I paid

But I really like the sammy, If it were not in high ambient light I would have gone with the Plasma.

Personally I'm a Sony buyer myself, but either way you go Sony or Samsung you can't go wrong.
