Good lord, I saw the Samsung 52A860 at Best Buy today - 1.9" thick. Ridiculous! I mean, $3,000, but - truly the pinnacle of LCD development. With all these models Samsung has from the 300 to the 900, Sony has a slim lead on the market, I like to think.

I've never seen the A950 in person, is it a step above 6 7 and 8 series LCD's?
its been said it has the best blacks for an LCD, almost close to the kuro.

I've got a Samsung LNT4071. I've had it for about a year. Absolutely love it. Could not be happier.

I have the 850 already. It is so very thin! I could hang it on a wall, and it would be nearly flush. The PQ is great! I have to say, when there's a little light in the room, the blacks blend completely with the frame. The only time you can even see the back light is during pitch black rooms, and even then, it's still almost pitch black. During daylight is when these LCDs shine.

Worth every penny.

By the way, I got mine for $2399 with free shipping. They're not three grand.

I helped my father pick out a new lcd screen and was able to get a match on a a630 which is a 52" and is the same as the a650 i believe except it does not have a glossy screen which we did not want.

All i can say is wow, it completely puts my Toshiba regza to shame! I have never seen a picture so life like and wish there was some way to unload my Toshiba so i could pick up one of these TOC sets from Sammy.

If you are someone on the fence about these sets i dont know why because i have never in my life seen tv shows and such look like it is happening right in front of me, kind of somewhat wierd but really shows the quality these tv's have.

I was able to get the a630 for 1,899, not bad for a high quality 52" set especially when a year ago i paid that much for my 42" toshiba.

630 also has a smaller contrast ratio.. and i believe a different screen, since its non glossy, so the 650 will look a lil better..

And people still wonder why the samsung's are more expensive then the other TV's... (customers at best buy.) You get what you pay for.

Yes and he was originaly planning to buy the 1,300 dollar special sharp aquos from bj's on black friday. It took a few phone calls and going with him to the store to convince him to spend the extra cash. He has thanked me many times for changing his mind, now im trying to find a good deal on a blu player to buy for him this x-mas. Wondering if i should just keep it samsung and pick up the p2500.

samsung lcd tv prices are very reasonable... assuming you buy online anyway... for the 120hz and overall pq... no other brand can compete with price vs performance

We just added in the LN52A750 a few days ago for our bedroom. The living room still houses the KDL-52XBR4 and both TVs are excellent. For the money, the Samsung is really a deal. I don't have any issues with the "halo" frame, although mine is an October 2008 build and read that newer models don't have or minimize this issue. The glossy clear panel is nice, definitely different than the XBR4's matte screen. I prefer Sony's post processing video options to the Samsung at the lower settings, but Samsung's higher settings produce less artifacts... not that you should watch movies at that setting anyway

Amazon has the 52" 750 for under $2k now. I bought it for $2,050 about 2 weeks ago and they even threw in a Samsung BD-P1500 for free which I sold off on Ebay for $210 bringing down the price of my TV to just over $1,800, great deal on a 52". DLNA isn't all that, but I prefer the 750's frame over the 650's and at the time it was only $100 more for the 750. Integrated subwoofer for the 750 is a joke, but then again I have no direct comparison to the other models and I use a home theater setup downstairs so I'm biased. The 850 was about $250 more and I wasn't willing to pay that for just a thinner panel with no increase in screen technology other than depth. I looked at the 950 and the XBR8 for a moment, especially since they were larger at 55", but price and relatively new mass market LED backlight display technology scared me a bit especially since this is just for the bedroom.

If you're not looking for a plasma and want a LCD, virtually all the Samsungs from the 5-9 series are great.

I'm interested in these three models. We already have a Samsung LN-T3732H, but that's at our family's second home (our whole HD setup is there), and just bought a Samsung 2233BW for my computer today. A 46"+ 1080p 120Hz set would be ideal.

Is there a difference in picture quality among the 650/750/850? To me, it just seems each step up offers another feature or style upgrade like DLNA or a thinner frame. They all have the same contrast ratio. Right now, if I had to choose, it would be the LN46A650.

Also, is DLNA a good feature to have for the future?

Thanks.

it's not as good as the xbr8 but is still insanely good. The xbr8 actually is just a hair away from pulling even with the kuro elites for best blacks but the price tags of both tvs will make you laugh. I belive the xbr8s' msrp is 2-3k more.....
