Default Blu-ray discs and 1600 High Definition television...

Something to think about. Why is blu-ray better and more important to have than hd-dvd? Well, in terms of a blu-ray player, more capacity means better quality movies with less compression. In a few years time we might see tv's with resolution of 720p, 1080i, and 2x 1440p, and 2160i. But 1600 might be the sweet spot.

Blu-ray's extra capacity might be the only thing to help support this resolution because there ain't no frikken way the tv stations are upgrading again this soon. Not to mention the bandwidth issue.

So, don't fret over upgrading to 200GB BD players. If they are playing your 1600 resolution movies, you gonna complain? Though, I don't care to see Catherine Zeta Jones' zits in high definition.

So, yes. I encourage ever higher capacity discs and a TV that supports 1600 with a blu-ray player. More space = Less compression = better quality.
1600 tv's might give blu-ray the edge to finally crush
Hum Drum-dvd.
