Default Sony BDP S350 Resume?

Hey everyone,

I'm very new to blu-ray, in fact I just got my first player along with The Dark Knight, but I'm having a bit of a problem with figuring something out on my blu-ray player.

The player I bought is the Sony BDP-S350, I updated it, and everything seems to work fine, but for some reason when I stop the movie (by hitting the stop button) and go into the home menu and click play again, it doesn't allow me to resume the movie from where I stopped it, even though the manual says that it's possible. I do have a flash drive in the back (For BD Live) but again, this one feature doesn't seem to work.

Can anybody help me with this problem?

Thanks

It is not possible on any BD-J titles on any player. Hit pause...

Hmm.. I see, may I ask though what does BD-J stand for, and are most movies like that? Does it happen to all players?

BD-J = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BD-J

Yes, most movies are like that. Some movies include a bookmark feature, I would utilize that. This happens on every player, no way around it yet.

Thanks for the info, it's a shame, but it's not the end of the world, lol.

Warner uses the bookmark option on their releases. All you have to do is, press the yellow button during playback to bookmark. The next time you start the disc again, just go to the scene slections and you should be able to see an option to select bookmarks, press it to access your bookmarks and viola! It will start right were you left off..... It will work even if you turn the unit off.

FYI.....Universal,Sony and Paramount also has this feature. The Universal titles however they are called MY Scenes and the only way to access your bookmarks is when the movie is actually playing. So you have to play the movie from the begining and then go to My Scenes to select your bookmark. Hope this helps....
