Default Bonus View disappearing from many Blu-ray movies more and more. WHY?

only love for BD-Live. Almost all the new releases (except Universal movies i guess) is only featuring BD Live now. Why are the studios abanddon BV. Why are they not supporting both now they are only supporting BD-Live now Its freaking weird man

You see you are not suppose to pay attention to such things. Honestly. I don't even know what these things are that you are talking about but I would be willing to bet dollars to donoughts that it has something to do with including it when a re-release happens. Remember when d.v.d.s first came out...what 1997... it was a few years before they started being done really well beyond just remastering but also including ANY type of bonus features. It allowed things that had already been released...to be re-released again which was fine I think. THOUGH I do think they should get to where they are doing all they can for movies in terms of including bonus content on Blu-Ray discs though as I think that there is so much out there they are not really going to run out things to sell people in my opinion...

I think pretty soon... all studios will release nothing but the movie itself. You will have to use BD-Live or some other sort of internet-based tool for bonus features. This will save on extra discs and various other packaging costs. This is just my opinion of the future though.

I dunno. I'm thinking about the titles I've recently bought...

Sleeping Beauty
Kung Fu Panda
Wall-E

they all have BD Live features- but the only stuff I wished I could have watched were the bonusview commentaries :-/
(I have a profile 1.0 player. I look at it as now I will have something "new" on all my old movies when I get a new player!)

The studios believe BD-Live features are where the format is headed. I would expect to start seeing them on virtually every new release.

I don't expect this to happen at all.

What will happen is they'll release just the movie itself....but on dvd. The BD will become the "special edition" release.

I don't agree with the statement that Bonus View content is somehow disappearing from movies on Blu-ray. I've seen plenty of picture in picture stuff on many of the movies I've bought or rented in the last 2-3 months. Bonus view content isn't on all releases, but BD Live isn't either. Recent releases like The Dark Knight, Wall•E, Transformers, etc. feature both BD Live and Bonus View content.

I hope so! I don't watch any of the bonus stuff and would prefer to save money and just get the movie itslef and let other people pay extra if they want those items.
