Default picture quality: hd-dvd vs bluray

honestly who has better picture quality hd-dvd or blu-ray? i own a ps3 basically for the blu-ray movie player, but i saw circuitcity was selling a hd-dvd player for 350 with 4 free movies after rebates......so should i buy an hd-dvd player or not? i mean the only reason id even want one is if the PQ is really better, i honesly think that hd-dvd will die soon and especially if universal starts doing bluray, and with the sales numbers they would be very dumb not to do bluray. but if you own a hd-dvd player and a blu-ray player please let me know, is the PQ better, worse or the same.
