Post Dolby TrueHD & DTS MA Subwoofer.

I noticed many a HD receiver has 5 Hz - 100kHz +1 dB, - 3 dB

I was surpised 5 Hz to 20 Hz for Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA Subwoofer!!
I can't believe it that's new technology sound.

I knew, if a subwoofer has limit 20 Hz-unlimited Hz. Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA give deep sound 10 Hz. it won't working. but not all blu-ray movie.
rare a movie.

For Example

When you pick a movie blu-ray has Dolby TrueHD or DTS MA.
rent it or buy it.

the disc on play in blu-ray player to a HD receiver information audio fequceny sound to muil-channel and a subwoofer.
sometime, Dolby TrueHD give deep sound 10Hz. you hear very low sound becuase it's subwoofer has limit.

Other Audio Dolby Digital or DTS are standard a subwoofer 20Hz - 150Hz.

Basically He is saying that the New audio codecs for HD sound have a tone freq range from 5hz to inf khz (within reason). and most subs for the average joe range from about 20hz to 120hz which would match up well with the old Audio codecs like DD and DTS which range from 20hz to inf khz (again within reason). So when your subs limit is reached when playing an HD audio codec all you hear is a muffled sound that isn't very clear or loud for that matter.

Thanks, Audiophile
It's important information. please don't turn too high volume for loud. it damage your a speaker.

Dolby Digital and dts also can put out 5Hz tones, we have seen this in spectrum analysis of "The Incredibles" for example.

The Dolby Digital track has numerous scenes with energy down to 5Hz.

Probably 0.001% of the people here have a subwoofer that will hit 5Hz. You need to get a rotary sub I believe to get usable output that low.

http://www.rotarywoofer.com/

Frequency Response: 1Hz – 30Hz +/- 4dB

Dolby TrueHD doesn't magically carry information at 5Hz that no other codec does. DSD, dts, dts-master audio, PCM, dolby digital, etc., all can offer frequencies that low.

How low does your rotary watch go down to?

Once I find an external subwoofer amplifier to use I will hook it up to my attic fan and be in business!

Good luck hearing anything below 15hz even 20hz is hard to hear. Also no such thing as the brown note, mythbuster busted that one. Also has any ever seen a sub play a sound at 10hz or below, it's incredible to watch the cone on the speaker move.

Even JL's Fathom only lists 15hz @ -10db (18 @ -3db)

If you have the opportunity, check out Aerial Acoustics SW-12 subwoofer, you won't regret it.

People have to be able to hear the frequences that speakers or subwoofers produce.
