For those prices try them out. If you don't like, return. Most Monoprice stuff is pretty decent quality. I've learned that the reviews usually are spot on.

Monoprice speakers and quality are relative to the setup you want them for and the equipment that is driving them.
I tried on a whim 1 pair of their big in wall speakers for my laundry room (50 bucks a pair). I figured if they stink, its only a laundry room.
My whole house is a Crestron system so it definitely warrants top of the line speakers, and thats what I have done in the past.
The quality is ok, you get what you pay for and they aren't certainly sonic masterpieces-bass is there but not in a suitable amount to my liking.
Prior to this purchase I only used Polk's in wall/in ceiling speakers.

Before you buy, throughly assess the setup, the sources and the audio goal you want to achieve (shake the house, ambient background music, casual foreground music)--and of course budget. If you are including monoprice speakers as extras in a current speaker configuration or for a 5,6,7.1 theater setup., I would say spend the extra bucks and keep consistency in the speaker config and don't buy monoprice speakers.

The last thing you want to do is go solely on price and then kick yourself everytime you power them up in your setup.

Taking into account 27 speakers, interfaces, hardware and custom programming...5 figures.
