Well, it's good to see the PS3 is still hanging in there, more or less... ouch. And to think it was outselling the 360 for the first half of the year, definitely needs a price cut.

Btw, when do we get numbers for software that wasn't in the top ten? I'm curious to see if Valkyria Chronicles really did get a bit of a word of mouth boost.

NPD are pretty tight with their data these days, and as much as I request, they never say yes like they used to. Then again, we have the awesomest most brilliantest free sales tracker to make up for it.

The Sony consoles are the bottom 3, it's pretty much a disaster in term of market share (even the PS2 becomes irrelevant, despite -i'm sure- it's good margin in $$).
The price cut can't come too soon imo.

Argh, that bites. Someone on irc mentioned that Valkyria Chronicles sales were actually increasing week to week, and I was going "Please don't be VGChartz" when I asked what the source was. It was VGChartz.

Maybe Sega's quarterly will mention something... It doesn't matter as long as they make another game like it, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

According to which people. I always figured Nov and Dec would be much the same as Nintendo were cranking out Wiis as quick as possible pre Xmas, and it sold 2m in Nov. I doubted their ability to suddenly increase supply from 2m to 3m in such a short period of time.

0.25m WW, lot's of stock on shelves

, hopefully they moved some in the last two weeks of Dec, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Sales have been very weak in Europe, when usually NA=EU when it comes to RPGs, but I haven't seen Sega or Sony push it at all.

Wow, that's worse than I expected, was hoping EU would come to the rescue a little bit. Fortunately they're doing a budget re-release in Japan around the time the anime airs, so that should help a touch.

You would think that Sony would push this game really hard (because it's good and exclusive), because I saw so many 360 IU adverts (and that was shite) leading many people to think the 360 gets all the RPGs this gen. Word of mouth has been good so far for the game, but whether it translates into increased sales I couldn't say.

Hopefully my pessimism is proved wrong and Sega doubled up over the last two weeks in Dec. and shipped 500k!

At least the PS3 sales didnt go down. The sales will go up in a few months when the price comes down. As for the Wii even though it cant compare the The PS3 I have always loved Nintendo products and am thrilled to see them on top again.
