Default sd movies on ps3 hdd

i have an 80 gig ps3 at work and a ton of sd movies at home. my question is can i store my movies on the hard drive of my ps3 so i can watch them at work without having the actual disk, yes i have some occasional down time. how would i go about doing it and what file format would they need to be in so the ps3 would play them. thanks

More importantly, what kind of work do you do that allows you to have a PS3 at work? I want that job
