I was thinking about picking one up this weekend. I got a price of $1,899. I like the Samsung LN52650 as well. Any thoughts?

If you are willing to buy on amazon, you can get the sammy 52a650, for $1,600 for a Warehouse deal at Amazon, which is open box, but they reseal it, and it is near perfect condition. If you are not worried about budget, you can buy one brand new sealed on Amazon for $1,846. The sammy is much more TV for your buck. I would say it is more comparable to Sony's XBR. A light-year ahead of the TV you are looking at for $1,900.

You think the Samsung's that much better? I saw it got better reviews than the Sony but I wasn't sure.

Here's the problem. I'm getting the TV on my Dell account and they don't have the LN52650 they just have these to chose from:
Sony Bravia 52" KDL52W4100 120HZ - $1,899 Sony Bravia 52" KDL52V4100 - $1,499 Samsung 52"’ LN52A550 - $1,499 What's my best option of these three? |

The KDLW model looks very much like the model I have that I bought
early last year--- the picture is outstanding and I'm very happy with it-- quite frankly the Sony AND the Samsung models are both top rated so you probably can't go wrong with any of them-- but I would get the Sony. |

Do you think the extra $400 is worth it going from the W4100 instead of the V4100?

Having gone through 4 "big screen" Tv's in the past decade all I'll say is this-- everytime I chose the cheaper model I always regretted it (which is why I upgraded several times) with hidef tv and blu-ray I think it's worth getting the best possible TV that you can afford... |

If you are buying the Tv to watch sports and action movies you have to go with the Sony W series. It has the 120Hz refresh rate and the Samsung only has 60Hz Refresh rate. The 120Hz is the future in tv's. Plus the Sony also has picture in picture. The list price on the Sony is 2,800.00 so you are getting a great price.

I bought the Sony one from Costco 3 months ago and it is the BEST LCD I ever purchase. It does cost more than my other LCD but it is so much more technology superior and the PQ, AQ is amazing! You won't be disapointed with the it. Samsung isnt too shabby either. Depends on your budget preferece/or loyaty to name brand.

This is my opinion and my opinion only mind you but dont let others lead you into thinking that the V4100 Sony HDTV's are cheap because they are only 60hz because thats just NOT the case. I have the Sony KDL46V4100 and it's a very good HDTV. Look it up on the net for reviews and the reviews are very very good and speaking from experience with my set any Blu Ray movie I watch or HD source for that matter I get excellent quality picture with deep blacks and vibrant colors. There are times where I get what is called "judder" while watching some Blu Ray movies but not much and when I turn off the 24p feature on my Sony Blu Ray player the "judder" goes away. Trust me I ALMOST sold my tv because I got all caught up in the 120hz craze that is goin around but after talking with a Sony rep and doing some comparisons I didnt think it justified me spending more money on a tv because it had 120hz. But I dont have a boatload of cash others do either. So if you wanna go with the V4100 series then go for it because THEY ARE excellent tvs especially if they are from Sony. Dont buy into the 120hz thing. Yes its a nice feature but dont buy into what some are telling you that 60hz is junk because like I said before "thats just not the case!". In the end go with what you can afford and what YOU like not what others tell you. Just my two cents worth. ![]() |

For $1500 to $2000 you can get a 1080 front projector so to me it would be crazy to settle for a mere 50-60" when you can get 7 to 10 feet in HD for the same price!
