Blu Ray Player: What Buy?? - Blu-ray Forum

Hallo,

First post, I'm from Switzerland and I want buy a Blu ray players:
In my head I have: Sony (BDP S1 or new BDP-S300) or Pioneer BDP HD1 or new BDP LX70).
I possed the Toshiba HD EX1 too.
My AudioVideo set is Rotel Rsp1068-Rmb1077-RB1092, DVD player Denon3930,
Toshiba HDEX1, speakers B&W803S (drive with RB1092), Htm7 center, 703 rear (with 1077 all bi-ampli), 750sub - Pioneer plasma 507XD)
(Attention: I search more Italian disc version as english and is not easy Bd or HD dvd in Italian to have)

Please your opinion.

Welcome. You have some good company here there are a number from Switzerland that frequent here - they will undoubtedly pop up.

personally, i'd go with a BR player. the new pio should be amazing and same with the sony. if i could, i'd go with any of the second gen platforms unless you want to save some money. with your setup (awesome BTW), you should be fine but will not have hdmi 1.3 compatibility. this basically means you will need the player to either decode the sound or output over analog outs.

personally, if money is not the issue, go the new pio

I'm looking for specifics for a player that is going to be $800 or so more expensive than the Sony.
