i need help with my Onkyo TX-SR805... - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone can help me find out why I can't get TRUE-HD and DTS-ES lights on the receiver to light up even though I hooked up this ONKYO TX-SR805 with a pioneer BDP-51 FD blu ray player? I followed all the instructions in the user manual for both. Thanks!

possibly either your player isnt set to bitstream the audio and/or your using a sound mode on the receiver that may be altering the audio.

Are you connected with an HDMI cable? You have to set the BDP to "bitstream" the audio or the only thing you will get is PCM (Multichannel on your display).

i am connected with hdmi kimber kable...you said something about bitstream?i'm not sure my pioneer has that? GOD, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG

yes your pioneer has that capability. it may be called direct instead or something along that lines but it should be in the manual. should be able to find it in the audio menu on the player.
