You already watched it, xtop? I just got it in the mail with Vanishing Point & The Bird with Crystal Plumage....of the three, Futurama is the one I want to see first, heh. I read it was comparable to the first Futurama flick in terms of quality...

I enjoyed the movie. It is a nice ending to the series or just could be the start of something more if they choose to continue after this movie. Personally, I still think the first is the best one they made followed by Bender's Game then this one and finally, Beast with a Billion Backs.
Overall, I was very happy with all four movies and it was great to see Futurama back in action ![]() |

![]() Quote:
"It wasn't the first Fox series to be canceled too early (and it certainly won't be the last), but the demise of Matt Groening's Futurama proved to be slow and steady. Not in quality, of course: this tale of a man frozen for a millennium only got funnier as the series progressed, though network support dwindled during its four-year lifespan. As the Simpsons machine rolled on, Futurama's timeslot was shuffled around; for a time, the series' broadcast directly followed Groening's most famous creation, but it didn't last long. The series was eventually cancelled in August of 2003, though subsequent DVD releases (broken into four "volumes", due to the erratic broadcast schedule) reinforced Futurama's rabid fanbase. As creations like Fox's own Family Guy would prove, strong DVD sales make executives take notice. Groening approached the studio in 2006 with a proposal to create a new direct-to-DVD Futurama adventure, paving the way for rumors about a proper weekly revival for the series. These negotiations led to the announcement of four direct-to-DVD movies, which would eventually be divided into sixteen episodes airing on the Comedy Central network. The first three movies (Bender's Big Score, The Beast With A Billion Backs and Bender's Game) marked a slight decline in overall entertainment value; not surprising, since most TV series don't always translate well to a larger format. Bender's Big Score was the most engaging of the three: this ambitious (albeit slightly convoluted) time-travel love story had a lot going for it, even though it didn't always fire on all cylinders. The Beast With A Billion Backs was a truly disappointing follow-up: not only did it fail to correct the minor weaknesses of the first film, it just wasn't all that funny. Bender's Game brought plenty of gags to the table---and despite an awkward shift about 2/3 of the way through, it proved to be an enjoyable outing." |

You had asked if they might be released as a "season", it says "These negotiations led to the announcement of four direct-to-DVD movies, which would eventually be divided into sixteen episodes airing on the Comedy Central network" - but I wonder if that is set in stone? Will we actually see 16 episodes sliced out of these four movies on Comedy Central? Interesting for sure...I'll just stick with the four movies unless new, worthwhile scenes are added.

All in all I don't feel that the movies are as hot as the half hour episodes of the four seasons but still these movies are enjoyable and I was very happy to see Futurama again. I can only hope that the movies will push for a new season. I just can't believe that such a fun show did not have enough people watching it to make it profitable.
