Canada What's the diferences between the Mist Canada and US releases?

What are the differences between the Mist Canada and the Mist US releases? I ordered it off of Amazon and what came in the mail was the Canadian version I think because it's both English and French on the case wording.

The discs are the same. Only differences are with the cover art. The set is released by Alliance in Canada, so the cover is the same as the SD DVD 2-disc art, whereas the US cover is a new image by Drew Stryzan. I prefer the Canadian cover myself.

Which amazon did you order it off of? If it was .com, was it in their marketplace?

Haha, I love posts like these.
He acts like inetvideo deceived him in some way when it's clearly stated on their site their main base of operations is in Canada.

I'm willing to bet nothing. The boxes look exactly the same as US release. I can't even notice any french writing on it.

Yea I find it funny how they say they ship it from New York but it's actually coming from Canada. Takes an extra like 5 days! Figured that would be against some kind of rule, especially since people think they're getting the US version and they get a different art cover or no digital copy. I guess no one complains. I always make sure to look who's selling the item on Amazon Marketplace before buying.

Yes I bought it off amazon.com, how was I supposed to know they were a Canadian company? Let alone that they had a website?

You can't get mad at me for not digging into it more. I trusted they were selling the product I paid for, nothing less.

I ordered a copy from InetVideo, not knowing that it was the Canadian release, and for some reason it plays the film fine, but the documentaries and other features will not play at all. Is everyone sure the discs are the same as the US release? My Magnavox has played much more complicated discs, such as Watchmen for instance, without a hitch. This is the first problem I've ever encountered so I'm sure it's the disc and not the player.

You shouldn't be having any difficulty since yes, the discs are also Region A. Haven't heard of any issues regarding the disc not playing extras. I would say try it in another player(differnt brand perhaps), & if there still is an issue exchange it.

I tried it again and it still will not play any of the extra features besides the commentary. The doc's and deleted scenes simply will not play. I hit the button to play the feature and the disc acts like its getting ready to play, but it never does and eventually it just goes back to the main menu. But it plays the movie flawlessly. It doesn't make sense. But the discs in the Canadian release are identical to the US release? I've already asked for a refund. I was fine with the alternate cover even though I prefer the Struzan cover and the purchased, but after the features not working, well...that's just not quite right. I have the two-disc DVD for the features, but still, I didn't pay $17 for a faulty product. I really don't think it's the player since it plays Java heavy discs without a problem and this is a pretty basic disc.

Weighing in a little late here, but AFAIK, the Canadian version of the Mist and the American version are NOT the same. If the Canadian version of the mist contains the Black and White version on the BD, then I have no idea who to access it, and there is also NO MENTION of it on the packaging.

On the copy I have, I can technically "play" the special features (ie. deleted scenes, interview, etc.), but the image is pretty messed up. It's VERRRRY jittery. I'm wondering if my player (Panasonic BD-35) has problems playing 1080i... Haven't been able to test it on another player yet, so I don't know if it's a defective disc or a compatibility issue. The movie itself plays perfectly.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm getting pretty !#@$#!# SICK having to do my bloody homework before I buy a BD (particularly a Canadian version, which mostly seem to be either screwed-up in some way (incorrect ratios, crappy transfers (anybody else TRIED to watch Chasing Amy?), or just missing basically any extras), or even worse is when I've DONE my homework only to find out that nobody else notices problems until AFTER I've discovered them...

Whoops, almost forgot my rant about iNet Hideo; I placed one order with them, and two out of five BDs came in destroyed cases, while a third was not factory sealed, not in a standard case, and obviously NOT in the described condition. All of these were supposedly "NEW". As far as I'm concerned, these guys are borderline scammers.

The Black and White version is on a seperate Blu-ray Disc.

Canadian Back Cover:

US Back Cover:

There is a second release in Canada that includes a DVD copy of the film instead of the BD for the B&W version.

That back cover looks like this:
