SILENT HILL HOMECOMING: EUROPEAN vs US version - Blu-ray Forum

Hi all!

I live in South Africa and have been waiting forever to get Silent Hill Homecoming on PS3. We're finally getting it this friday, the 6th of March!

However, after doing some reading, I discovered the reason we've had to wait so long is because the european version has been heavily censored.

Can anyone tell me what the major differences are between the european and american versions? The european one was released in the UK yesterday so hopefully there's someone here who has it? How much stuff has been censored and to what degree? Are there a lot of things cut? Should I rather get the US uncensored version?

I would appreciate any help!

Only heard about the Australian version getting censored but I can't give you definitive answer on the Euro version.

You should be good. I have heard of no changes (or improvements) - aside from Australia, its the same game the world over. Enjoy the game! Its a pretty darn good addition to the SH franchise!

We usually don't censor at least on continental Europe. Don't know about the UK version though.

I was waiting to hear reviews of the European version. Since it came months after the US version I was hoping they'd improve on the game but apparently they did not and it is the same game so why does it have to come months after the US release, I don't know.

I don't know why we had to wait so long either. I assumed it was because they were censoring the hell out of it. Apparantly the German version also underwent some heavy cuts. But we in SA usually get the same game as in the UK (at least I think we do) so hopefully I'll be good. Here's hoping they don't replace pyramid head with Garfield!

Anyone know yet for sure which EURO versions of the game is censored? Is it ONLY Australia and Germany? I can't find any info on the web...
