Well....getting away from that GREEN would certainly be a MAJOR improvement. Try something more neutral like a light-brown (taupe). It'll bring your posters to the forefront more without being blinded by your current colour-scheme!

Keep it neutral!

Maybe you just haven't seen the right shade of red yet

But in keeping with your wishes..... I agree with John, taupe etc... is a safe bet.... but although not the best for movie viewing, you could go with another bright color.... since you have a LOT going on in the room (all the "Stuff" you got in there )

I'd either go neutral or chocolate. Also, I think red rooms can look nice if done right.

Depends on the furniture. It has to match.

Brown can be a very warm and inviting color depending upon how you accent it with room decor.

A neutral color like some shade of brown probably would work best for what your current setup is. I have my basement painted like a very light cream color and then have the wall that my TV is hanging on painted black or a dark charcoal color and it looks great IMO.

I am going to post some pics of my theater soon once I finish up a few things. I just had a buddy of mine build me a custom media rack for all my components that we just installed in the wall and it came together nicely.
